  •  The "profit" doesn't really hold up once (0+ / 0-)

    You look at all the specific tax consideration AIG got. Maybe there was a teeny profit. We're in "break even" territory as far as I can see.

    But livelihoods of lots of regular folks (across the globe) weren't lost, and we lost no money despite the house of ripped and shredded cards that AIG sat atop.

    I think most people have no idea who and what AIG is.  This deal worked out well, even with no "profit."
