What they want from Washington is dollars, with no strings. They do not want to follow national directives. What they are really opposed to is nationalization, but it wouldn't be nice and patriotic to to be anti-nation. So, they're "anti-social."
What they want is local control.
They've actually got a point. Washington has a monopoly on producing our currency. So, that's what they send people to Washington to get. It's called "bringing home the bacon." What the Tea Party people resent is that the bacon is being used to extract votes for people they, rightly, perceive as exploitive of them. What they didn't notice was that their agenda was co-opted by people who resent all government regulation of industries that rape the land. They didn't realize that DFA was a DIY political enterprise, because the Tea Party socialists aren't into self-help. They're used to being organized to be against something (foreigners, out of towners, newcomers, enemies, terrorists, socialists, sin, etc.).

We organize governments to deliver services and prevent abuse.

by Palazzo's vote. Most of us are appalled by him and did not VOTE FOR HIM.

He won re-election because the Democratic Candidate Michael Herrington dropped out of the race literally weeks before the November election. The local media was reporting that Palazzo was running unopposed even though another Democratic Candidate was found at the last minute.  Matthew Moore was not well known and the Democratic Party which has little funding had no way to get the word out.

Maybe somebody could look into why Herrington choose to run for election and then dropped out at the last minute leaving the field clear for Palazzo.
