      Incredibly difficult and labor-intensive to investigate the party affiliations in states with non-partisan elections. I suppose I can look into it and update the diary later.

      The map note is a good one though, I'll fix that.

        more worthwhile. I don't think it would be that difficult as we have a good idea of the affiliations in certain states. Off the top of my head, NC and WI both have a one seat Republican majority and wikipedia has Ohio and Michigan at 6R 1D and 5R 2D respectively. Try looking at judgepedia or ballotpedia for the nonpartisan states if you end up calculating all of the breakdowns. Those are fantastic resources for when wikipedia doesn't have the information.
