Martinez (and Sandoval and Branstad) are only popular now because they've have Dem legislatures (or in Branstad's case, a Dem state Senate only) to insulate them from the crazies in the Republican party. Even then, Martinez spent millions of taxpayer dollars to try and find instances of people here illegally voting (VOTER FRAUD!!!1!), and found precisely two incidences.

Now of course, that won't sink her, but I'm saying she should thank her lucky stars the Republicans didn't win the legislature.

Age 23. Voting in NJ-03. Lived most of life in NJ-01. Had Rush Holt represent me during my undergrad years and am now represented by Frank Pallone in my grad school.

was never in danger of flipping, like the IA/NM/NV ones might have been. Heck Christie wouldn't have won in the first place if it wasn't Jon Corzine at the top of the ticket.

But that being said, he (or his political image, to be more specific) is much better off with a Dem legislature too, of course.
