    get petty...I still don't think he'd ever, in a million years, sink to the level of pettiness that would give the tiniest shit about something so insubstantial as a DKos tip jar.

    And though I know chicago minx was making a (very clever) joke, I agree with her (him?) in that half the problem with this place is tip jars. And ratings. And rec lists.

    But those things are also what motivates many people here. In a bad way.

      Censorship was antithetical to John Lennon's belief system.

        The ways people attempted to censor John Lennon included a presidential administration putting all their power to bear to have their immigration department harrass him to distraction. The final effort to censor him was to shoot him to death.

        It took the man five years to get a fuckin' Green Card because of what he said--and you really think he'd give a shit about "censorship" on a blog? Really?
