My feelings toward the guy are neutral, but I can't deny that he has a hell of a lot of charisma and energy. I'm past thinking that those things alone translate into being a great leader, but they do correlate with that, and he has them.

In general, though, I'm pondering a "wait and see" approach with the guy. He stumbled badly when he tried to get into national politics on his disastrous Meet The Press appearance last year, and his Senate bid has been less than smooth so far. Perhaps he'll adapt to a greater degree to national politics in the future, but given what I've seen from him so far, crashing and burning is hardly an implausible option.

About him but he can well learn and recover.

If he wins a Senate race he probably won't be challenged and only a scandal could derail his Senate career.

I just don't view the rest of the potential Dems as being able to take him on as an incumbent.  I have a hard time believing he'd lose a primary to anyone really.

I wouldn't worry about him at all as the nominee but he stumbled out the gate here and unnecessarily so. A clumsy attempt to push someone out can easily encourage the opposite response.
