Mainly the parts going from the Four Corners Regional Airport west of Farmington to the Four Corners area. Including Shiprock and other parts. The district should go back Dem pretty soon, so she could bail to run statewide.

She actually ran for Secretary of State in 2002, losing 58/42 to Vigil-Giron, and underperforming big time in Eastern New Mexico (she won Lea County by a 53/47 margin). And her other candidacy was a loss for Navajo Nation president in 2010 (5th place!).

The other problem for Dem incumbent Ray Begaye is that perhaps his mailer tactic of calling his opponent "Not Navajo Enough" backfired... on the way to a 61/39 loss.

The Republican Party isn't a party of small government, it's a party of a government for the few. @bhindepmo

I was assuming it was probably there.

the Rs picked up two* Senate seats, to narrow the margin to 25-17 D. The other new Senator on the R side is Lee Cotter, whose district is shaped like a dragon about to attack Las Cruces. Cotter won on his 3rd try.

(* - they picked up 3 seats, because the Dems got a seat via appointment after the county commissioners picked Democrat Lisa Curtis to replace Republican Kent Cravens, then Republican Mark Moores defeated Curtis by 13% on 11/6.. but the 08 to 12 +/- is 2 seats)
