  •  Would be cool to see list of nearby legislators (0+ / 0-)

Or see ways where all the goo-goos split votes and which establishmenty Dem gets the nod

As long as they're more helpful than Dan Lipinski, it can't be a minus unless an R wins (and I'm guessing an R may have won IL3 for something in 2010)

The Republican Party isn't a party of small government, it's a party of a government for the few. @bhindepmo

Obama won IL-03 this year by 13 points, while statewide by 17.  So it would probably follow that Sen. Kirk (and Bill Brady, the GOP candidate for governor) would have narrowly carried it.

However, I'm not too worried about this as an open seat.  Republicans hold only a handful of seats that Obama won at all, and almost all of them are in the 50-51% range for Obama.  The only other seats close to IL-03's 56% Obama are the two in California where we dropped the ball in candidate recruitment: CA-31 (57% Obama), and CA-21 (55% Obama).

the 4 Chicago Aldermen whose wards cast 4-digit vote totals in the IL-3 primary in 2012: Balcer (11), Quinn (13), O'Shea (19) and Zalewski (23).

Zalewski's son is a state legislator (since 2008, replaced a legislator who quit mid-campaign).

O'Shea is in his first term.

Quinn won his first term unopposed after his opponent withdrew. That's the Madigan ward.

      Balcer is in Bridgeport.
