  •  Gonna get warmer tomorrow and then (5+ / 0-)

hot the rest of the week.  I'll end up switching from heat to a/c.

What's the status of the missing duck?  Still gone I suppose.

When do they usually mate and start nests and such?

    •  March (5+ / 0-)

I think. I haven't been out there this morning. I think the white duck is gone..........

Moved a load of stuff yesterday.
Jacquelyns house is just about empty. everyhtning up stairs is cleaned out & the carpets will be cleaned tomorrow. I think David & Jacquelyn will get the rest today.

then there is the Hunterville house that David wants the bedroom stuff for a room in the new house to move.

He never really thought much of my trailer till we used it to move the house last week. He called me yesterday to say I need you & the trailer ! It was funny !

I was sorry to see your effort on that post slip away without many eyeballs seeing it !

      •  I love my utility trailer (5+ / 0-)

        Everybody laughs at it but they always borrow it. I never tell them its what I use to haul my garbage to the dump. (hate messing up the F350}

        Happy just to be alive

      •  Heh...that's funny how David likes the trailer now (8+ / 0-)

It's pretty hard to get many eyeballs when there is so much meta going on and all the meta, ttfn, copycat diaries.

Sometimes I think the collective maturity age around this place is somewhere around 14...maybe 15 if I'm feeling generous :-)

Too many folks who don't have enough sense and will power to stay out of diaries with stances that they know they highly disagree with and will be unable to participate intellectually and with the necessary degree of civility.

The Pootie people and IGTNT make their points pretty well about moving right along if you don't like what you see and so it should be with all other diaries.  Unfortunately, the developmentally challenged among us cannot resist taking swipes at those who ::gasp:: disagree with their mindset.

When there's an event like Newtown, the RKBA folk know enough to bide their time until the initial shock has worn off then gently return and attempt to make themselves understood.  Same/Same with the I/P fights and the Obama haters/cheerleaders.  The pendulum swings back the other direction eventually, making the other side duck and cover.  We all take our turns staying on the down low until it's safe to come out again.

My major complaint are all the copycat diaries that are clearly an attempt at a shot on the rec list.  Nothing more.  We don't need 16 meta diaries in a 10 hour period on the same subject.  Pick one, go in, make you points and comments and save the rest of us from having to scroll down a list of utterly useless diaries.

        Okay, rant over ;-)

        •  On the other end of the spectrum (8+ / 0-)

there is shortfinals, whom I suspect is the current most prolific diarist on the site. He wrote four (4) substantive diaries yesterday, all on different subjects, none were meta, and all were substantive content.  He does not get nearly the number of eyeballs he deserves.

          •  I check "My Page" 4x a day just for Shortfinals. (5+ / 0-)

It's like having Ed McMann and The Prize Van show up outside your house.

But better, as I don't have to deal with the disappointment:

(and as I understand you're proofing them so your skills are equally excellent)

The diaries of his that I have read have richly deserved to be on the rec list.
