it is part of the fundamentalist mindset to try and get other people to validate their beliefs by indoctrination.

That's why they knock on your door and hand you propaganda.

That's why they carry the bible around, and form bible study groups, and tell anyone who will listen that they've been "saved".

I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but it seems to me you have to be pretty soft in the head to be so easily coerced into the cult of extreme religious views.

And so it is with the anti-abortion crowd. OK, I get it, they don't like abortion. Neither do I. The difference between me and them is very simple.

I don't try to get other people to agree with me. I have no right to do so. If we have a discussion on the topic, I won't try to get them to "see it my way". Doing so only indicates that deep down I have sufficient doubt that requires other people to validate my opinion.

And I have sufficient faith in myself, I don't need other people to convince me that I'm right.

The Über-religious folks I know show their lack of faith by trying to get others to validate their faith.

We've been spelling it wrong all these years. It's actually: PRO-GOP-ANDA
