  •  Especially as they can easily get as many H1B (6+ / 0-)

wage slaves as needed. Well-off or not, American workers are still Americans and expect fripperies like health care, paid time off, etc.

    •  H1B's don't work at Walmart (20+ / 0-)

H1B's are relatively skilled workers whose wages undercut America's SKILLED workforce, especially in the areas of computer programming and architecture.  I know plenty of computer programmers out of work -- don't tell me the only place you can find these skills is India or Malaysia.

And as the temp/contract industry grows for skilled workers, especially in IT, more and more of us are forced into positions where healthcare comes entirely out of our own pockets (assuming it's available at all), and paid holidays, sick days or vacations are something other people get.

No, Grizzard has this right.  The cogs they're creating are low-level unskilled and retail workers, whom they then treat as replaceable as light bulbs.

As for the prisons, wasn't it Pennsylvania who not so long ago had to remove and disbar two juvenile court judges for accepting kickbacks from for-profit facilities?

History should teach humility and prudence, but America doesn't seem to learn. I've never seen a virgin who loses her innocence so often. -- Gordon Wood

      •  This moves up the income ladder. (0+ / 0-)

More children born in poverty than high school grad level jobs jobs and every one of those kids that can goes to college creating more skilled workers than jobs and that puts downward pressure on skilled wages.
