    CT has a strong Democratic lean, so I think Malloy starts at Lean D, all things being equal.

      Connecticut leans D, but it does have a habit of electing Republican governors.  Dan Malloy was the first elected Democratic governor in a generation.

      Conn. also has a history of electing maverick type Gov's and Republicans.

      Think John Rowland.

      Think Lowell Weicker (that's what Conn. really needs right now).
