    She's a strong liberal from SE PA who is tenacious as hell.  In terms of "too old," it didn't stop Angus King who is almost 69 now.  (Coats, Risch, Sanders and Hirono were also 65+ at their first swearing-in, eighteen current Senators were 60+ at their first swearing-in.)

      A vast majority of the current senate was under age 68 at the time of swearing in, and the trend is towards younger Senators.  

      It's the reason why its Senator Schatz and not Senator Hanabusa right now.  If she wanted to run she could have run in 2010 but lacked the courage to do so.  if she wants the free ride in 2016 on Presidential coattails that's fine but it's not my preference when other options are available.

      If she wanted to run for guv in 2014, I'd imagine she'd be out there already; I just don't think she wants to run a competitive statewide election.  She herself has been quiet on the issue.
