  •  'Get Over It' (3+ / 0-)

At each of out many lossess at the polls, the "winners" typically said 'get over it' as if the issue was settled - which was of course impossible.

No one ever says "well OK I lost at the polls so I'll just go be happy being a second class citizen".

Of course we will keep trying until we win, we really have no choice.

I've often thought that this is the difference between the gay rights movement and the reproductive rights movement, which is doing poorly.

Women are only in the vulnerable period of having unwanted children for a portion of their lives, and even then due to other life circumstances many of them are not faced with a serious need to have an abortion.

So their natural consistency is always fading away and new ones need education.

(I'm not saying that they don't have many many allies, but that isn't the same thing as being on the firing line all of your life the way gays are).

If altar boys could get pregnant, contraception would be a sacrament.
