  •  Good morning, New Day-ers!!! (18+ / 0-)

    Favorite road trip...hmmmmm.

My favorite short road trips were when my mama, sister and I
would drive from Baton Rouge to Bogalusa for Christmas and sing Christmas carols all the way. We had a lyric sheet that was passed out by Pac-a-Sac, which became 7-11.

Favorite long road trip was moving to NYC. Baton Rouge to Memphis and then North. Not very exciting in terms of history or scenery but it was with my best friend, Sarah Lynn (RIP) in a Toyota truck (with all of my stuff in the back) and we had a great time stopping to visit friends in Memphis and Pennsylvania. Also, significant in that that trip changed my life forevermore. Southern girl became a pseudo Yankee. ha ha ha
Actually, not true, I am as Southern as the day I stepped into that truck.

Diva, your absolute joy in life just shines in those photos with the sand!!

When I lived in Baton Rouge, my friend, Patrick, and I would
go to the levee when we were in a bad mood and roll down the levee over and over screaming and laughing. We got grass and hay-like stuff in our mouths. Talk about therapy!!!Worked every time. Then, later, my grandmother sent me
a photo of my mama and daddy at the bottom of a hill that they had just rolled down, laughing like maniacs. DNA.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!
