I used to just look at most republicans and think "criminal" with no obvious clues or prompting about their potential for  racist leanings.

Now I just look at republicans and think "racist" with little to no difficulty; thinking of them as criminal has become the de facto truth in most cases and now thanks to Steve King so has thinking of them as utter racists as well.  I guess that calling him a representative republican representative is not an alliterative misnomer.

I guess when you're an aging white guy from Northwest Iowa you have little to lose by appealing to those most like yourself to get elected/reelected time after time.  Although after the last election, I understand he had an almost viable Democratic opponent, so maybe even Northwest Iowa is slowly joining the rest of the country in becoming more enlightened and less racist/Teabag Stupid (but at a glacially incremental pace it seems).
