  •  never happen; heard a GOP operative on local (0+ / 0-)

TV today touting how many jobs had come into SC in the last year and how the economy grew 3% last year.  He ignored the previous years that made a 3% increase not so difficult or that the jobs, like so many jobs so many times in past decades, stopped for a while with SC on their way out of the country.

Then it was brought up that the United Van lines' migration study showed SC as 5th in gaining population w/o pointing out problems with the study or that it is easy to gain population if you have been losing it steadily.  The other unanswered question is what population has been lost and what population is replacing it

    •  That's my take, too. These are the unskew (1+ / 0-)

the polls people after all.  Reality is what they say it is.  My suggestion is that we start talking seriously about how to reach those voters who once called themselves Tea Party supporters.  Gerrymandering only works if Republican voters are left in their bubble.  The results of the 2012 election, the clown car primary, the utter ineptitude and crassness of Romney, and the revelation that sheer numbers and volume don't make lies into truths might mean this is an opportunity to reach some people.  Calling them morans is fun, it doesn't shift votes.

I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.
