    And I get the argument. I'd probably vote to put Bonds and Clemens in.

    Sosa? I know, 608 homers, blahblahblah. Take away PEDS and I think you have ... Dave Kingman, pretty much. Which is not meant as an insult to Kingman, but he's not a HoFer.

      The Baseball Hall of Fame is a commercial endeavor promulgated and promoted by an outfit called the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA). The only folks who get to vote are members of the BBWAA. I believe their meetings are held at that Star Wars bar in Mos Eisley, aptly described by Obiwan Kenobi as a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

      Let everyone use whatever they want, and put them all in the BBWAA Hall of Fame. Baseball's actual fans (which I define as those who derive life energy but not their living from following baseball) will render the true judgment.
