  •  It isn't a 'toy'. It is a right. (4+ / 0-)

And none of the rights I have has caused the death of a single person.

The GOP asked why did 3000 Americans have to die so that you would need a warrant to wiretap.
I rejected their flawed & dishonest justification to infringe on American liberties then.
    And I reject yours now.

Our rights as Americans are not subject to your hysterical desire for percieved security.

Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither.

    •  I have rights same as you (3+ / 0-)

the right not to be shot is one of them. Whether accidentally, deliberately or as the result of an irrational act. That's how the Constitution is designed, to allow people of differing backgrounds to cohabit. Your devotion to your pet right does not supercede anyone else's.

You don't have the right to cry "FIRE!" in a crowded theater (if there is no fire). That's not protected speech. So too the second amendment has never been understood to protect EVERY kind of armament man is able to devise.

"Right to not be shot is one of them"-True. That is why there are laws against being shot. There are also laws against being stabbed or punched as well. Those laws don't mean that I can't own a gun, or a knife, or my hands,
This is asinine. I truly have no idea how you think that bolsters your point.

"Allow people of different backgrounds to cohabit"
And none of my rights has infringed on anyone. So why are you trying to infringe on innocent Americans?

"You don't have the right to yell FIRE in a crowded theater"
Partially right. If I yell FIRE and people are harmed, then I am liable. By the same token, if I possess a firearm that harms you, then I am liable.

"Never been understood to protect EVERY kind of armament"
It still isn't. But the items that are currently protected is current liberties. I don't support infringing on ANY liberties Americans have today.

        "Your pet right"
I support ALL rights Americans currently have. I disagreed with the right-wing's infringement on the 4th amendment with warrantless wiretaps. For the exact same reason I disagree with your attempted infringements on the 2nd.
I will not vote for nor support anyone who tries to infringe on the rights of any innocent American.

        I am consistant.
        Why aren't. You?

Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither.
