    unless it's for this:

"What I think has excited the White House is that it does put the president in a leadership role, but it is not aimed at what Congress can do, or what he can do per se, so much as it is aimed at apprising the American public about how they can act." [...]
and I doubt very much that the people in charge, once they understand the implications of starting the American public realizing their own power, will let it go forward.
    •  We're discussing it because it's at least... (5+ / 0-)

...somewhat likely that this will be the WH's move. If the issue is that this will be mere window-dressing, green-washing, words without action, then THAT'S worth discussing as well as how to try to make it something more than just words.

Don't tell me what you believe, show me what you do and I will tell you what you believe.

places. i can't say I care if the WH does this... it would take quite something to convince me that there was any substance behind it.

i keep thinking: the ground game worked incredibly well. how do we polish it, use a site like dKos to assemble secular and social justice minded individuals and start working it in local and regional gov't? how do we retake school boards? zoning boards? how do we do what Vermont attempts to do and use the  power of the state to stop the overreach of the federal gov't and it's corporate overlords?

we... i wonder who we are? democrats? no. not anymore. we need to break out of that old thinking and come up with something that actually works.
