    When the guns of a minority trump or nullify the vote of the majority (thereby placing that minority above the law), that doesn't prevent tyranny; that is tyranny.
    I agree that a lot of this fear of guvmint tyranny -- and the idea that anyone's personal gun arsenal could defeat it -- is inexplicable.

    Those who suggest it's possible for the guvmint to behave tyranically and/or confiscate firearms seems mum on issues of real rights being taken away -- warrantless surveillance is a good example. A gun won't protect you from the government listening to your phone calls or emails. A gun won't protect you from being labeled an "enemy combatant" and stripped of all rights.

    A good lawyer might help, tho.
