I have lots of encounters with deer, raccoons, coyotes and foxes. I had a wild cat crossing once, didn't even think to try to get a picture. We have great horned owls, red tail hawks and any number of birds (no eagles yet). Turkeys nest here and we recently added peacocks to the list. The Amish down the road had their chicken run smashed by a tornado, the peacocks made good their escape. I prefer nature to human neighbors, and the nearest human neighbor is half a mile away. There have been the 'legendary black leopard' of Kentucky sighting, I've never seen one and I have a 15 mile view. My property is posted, yes I have to remind louisville hunters of this every year. I love listening to the owls 'talk' on warm rainy nights.

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.
