I love it! We are part of a massive benevolent conspiracy. :D

Will go check out that list of songs.

Gaia and Healing Planet are nice. Green Egg makes me think of Dr. Seuss, alas (all we need in there now is some ham).

Let's make 2013 the year we take back our planet.

All Heinlein-esque. Or Earth Citizens.  Earth Partisan.   New Earth. New Future.  Future Inclined.

But I really am partial to "Genesis Project"

        •  "Perky Earth" made me giggle. :) (0+ / 0-)

Now I'm picturing this smiling Earth bouncing around the galaxy.

I think the aspect of "Genesis Project" that doesn't sit right with me is the "Project" part. It conjures of images of this meticulously planned massive secret agenda. Prime fodder for wingnuts.

The Genesis Movement? The Genesis Initiative? (maybe not any better, I don't know).

Let's make 2013 the year we take back our planet.

            •  Earth 2.0 is a search for other planets (0+ / 0-)

similar to Earth.  I read about it in New Scientist.  While immigrating to a new Earth-like planet has long been a dream of mine, for purposes of rejuvenating the Earth, it's not too practical.

which is why I went ahead and posted it.

You're right "Project" is not a good word.  Other good words for "project" would be "aim", "point", "hope", "effect", "program", "enterprise" (ha!  tie back to Star Trek!), or "plan".

                Name:  The Genesis Mission
                Symbol: a butterfly
Vision: a paradise, a world where children can safely play outside, a planet fecund with life.

A world lacking in fire tornadoes.

                •  The more I think about the butterfly (0+ / 0-)

as a symbol, the more I love it.

                  Simple.
                  Versatile.
                  Concrete rather than abstract.
                  Easily recognizable by cultures worldwide.
                  Overwhelmingly positive (nobody dislikes butterflies!)
                  A symbol of hope.
                  A symbol of transformation.
                  A symbol of beauty.
Literally necessary (as a pollinator) for our planet's ecology to continue.
                  Contributes to the ecosystem.
                  Does not "consume".
Can be drawn even by a 4-year old (or made using a simple handprint, like this: http://michellesjournalcorner.blogspot.ca/...
Easy to adapt to a hand sign, in the same way (useful at demonstrations).

Maybe a green butterfly? Or a blue butterfly? Or a green-blue butterfly like this?

                  •  Oh, and also representing rebirth/the future. (0+ / 0-)

A planet that has been renewed for the next generation.

                    It is a great symbol!

                    •  There's also the symbolism of (0+ / 0-)

the "butterfly effect" - i.e. how actions by individuals, though they may seem small, can lead to massive change in the future.

                  •  Apparently in China the butterfly (0+ / 0-)

represents both long life, and enduring love.

It is often featured on kites. Apparently butterfly kites are VERY popular.

Now I desperately want to see an environmental demonstration with all the participants flying butterfly kites! :D
