and did that law review thing. His failure to graduate and and explanation as to why that happened did not get past the He failed to graduate part.

But that is a fair question to ask, coffeetalk.

there were lots of indications (even in the President's book) that he did not do particularly well at Occidental College.  He did not release that transcript.

He did well later, and one can say that how he conducted his life since he left Occidental is what should matter.  But then that principle has to apply equally to Democrats and Republicans.

Either we demand everyone release college transcripts or we don't.  We don't know what is in Scott Walker's transcript, but then again, we don't know what is in President Obama's Occidental transcript, either.

If you think that not graduating from college means someone should not be elected President, you are free to make that argument.  You don't need his personal college transcript to do that.

List of Presidents who did not graduate from college:

George Washington (The death of his father ended Washington's formal schooling; however, he believed strongly in formal education. In his will, he left money and/or stocks to support three educational institutions.)
      Andrew Jackson
      Martin Van Buren
William Henry Harrison (attended college but never received a degree)
      Zachary Taylor
      Millard Fillmore
Abraham Lincoln (had only about a year of formal schooling of any kind)
      Andrew Johnson
      Grover Cleveland
Harry S. Truman (went to business college and law school but did not receive a degree)

I would never argue that a college degree, or any post secondary education, or even secondary education is required or any sort of gauge as to worthiness for office. I am biased against Walker, and would like to see him questioned while on truth serum, if one truly existed. But it is not his transcripts that now interest me, and many others.

I believe that we could start an open thread asking for "What three things would you want to ask Scott Walker while he was on truth serum," details of his college career would not be a big runner.

However, I think that details like that could be instructive as to character. I had a similar but much shorter college experience myself, and can understand his desire to (perhaps) embarrass himself.

I was Flounder, fat, dumb and drunk. Except for me it was fat, undiagnosed autistic and experimenting. Same result. Except I went back at age 30, and got a Mechanical Engineering Technology degree, with pretty good grades. But I am not running for office. So just keep my starting at Penn Sate  in 1977 and being booted by the end of my freshman year between  us, OK?
