    ...it appears to be self limiting.  The standing stones thing is a lovely idea, but I wonder how it plays out.  We don't even know what all the genetic variation of the last 5 to 10 thousand years encodes, as we've adopted agriculture and cities and all the great stuff that got us into this mess.  If a few homo saps survive, what their children find adaptive in small numbers under whatever conditions control may result in something quite different.

    But throwing messages out into deep time -- "we were here! this is what it was like for us!" -- seems worthwhile even if it is never read, or read by something very unlike us.  It is part of what we do, I think...
