    The current "guess" is that sales taxes would need to be raised an additional 3% (from 4 cents to 7 cents per dollar) to remain "revenue neutral".  Sales tax in NOLA would be 12%.  I haven't seen any information on how this would impact the separate tax rates for hotels (there's something called a "room tax" which right now is 13%, and another .75% added to the sales tax for hotels) but I'm sure if we can increase the tax base soak the rich, I'm sure we will.
