but I still disagree that all Republicans in this country are Constitution-hating (or at least, Constitution-twisting) jerks.

I refuse to believe that every registered Republican in this country is a dick.

any desire to change political affilliation, but they also unwittingly offer support to horribly selfish and destructive groups of representatives in D.C., Governor's mansions and State Houses in doing so, unfortunately.  They may not like the alternative major party, but the one they still support has been actively driving much of the world - with this country leading the way - into a pit of Heck without a single care in the world besides their own, short-term goals for safe power or money.

When they keep on voting Republican no matter what horrible things get said and done, especially when they harm those same voters, I simply cannot give them the benefit of the doubt.  I would have more respect for faithful conservatives who stay home or hold their noses and vote Democrat because they just can't support the crazy, stupid, and evil policies even if they wholeheartedly support the God, country, and capitalism rhetoric.

This goes double when you recognize that Republican politicians are fungible - a vote for one of them is a vote for all of them - especially the way Congress works.  That soft-spoken moderate you voted for just gave the speaker's gavel and all the committee chairmanships to teabaggers, fundies, and plutocrats.

Something's wrong when the bad guys are the utopian ones.
