  •  I'm glad I don't have my glasses on.... (10+ / 0-)

Because then I can see Bachmann's "crazy eyes"
and that gives me the willies!
    she's nuts...and a Congresswoman..what a combo!

    •  Your exclamation point at the end (14+ / 0-)

leads me to believe maybe you've not noticed that "nuts" and a "Congressperson" are not any rarer today than a BLT.

And Ms Bachmann doesn't want to lay out the bacon for all the costs she incurred on her ego trip to being a candidate for president. Because heck, she barely survived her run for another two years in the house, and that's saying something in her bloody red district.  So really, paying those little people for her silly aspirations to the presidency, is SO not on her mind.

The good news is that today in the Minnesota Star and Trib her chicanery and refusal to pay her staffers earned her a front page article.  You can't know how AMAZING this is if you don't live in Minnesota.

For YEARS, the Star and Trib covered Bachmann as a "Life and Style" commodity.  They did no end of gushy articles and photo ops about the little lady who had endless foster children and still managed to be a congressperson. It was sickening.

Smaller press in Minnesota tried over and over again to signal who this woman really was, but the Star and Trib could not be bothered to check into that.

But today, FINALLY, they did. Yep. Front page about her not paying former staffers. Most of us don't give a flip about newspapers anymore, but those who are older still read them, and that's who votes for Michelle.

And one last note in a too long comment---because there are never enough words for me to describe this idiot woman with an undeserved platform and power---I need to note how LITTLE sympathy I have for her unpaid staffers.

Back a loser, end up a loser.  If you believe what Bachmann is selling, and sign up for that, then well...

      Karma can be vicious.

      •  Thank You! (4+ / 0-)

Very much for a local perspective.
I had another local commenter recite almost the same feelings towards Bachmann a few weeks ago.
I really hope the negative coverage is enough to get her out of office.
I will be donating cash to the cause because like I said,
        she gives me the willies!

        •  She gives most of us in Minnesota (8+ / 0-)

the willies.  But the way the house works, zeroed in on districts, almost every state boasts a nut, and she's ours.

There have been in recent years, three Democratic brave soldiers who have valiantly tried to beat her in her blood red district.  All have failed. But the latest one gave her a real run for her money, and achieved the best showing against her, ever. Way too close for her comfort.

In fact, although we had a FABULOUS night here in Minnesota on Nov. 6---turned our state congress back to blue, just in time, as our Democratic Governor, Mark Dayton had done everything he could with vetos---the one sour note was seeing Bachmann win again.

Many of we Democrats in Minnesota were, again, so disappointed by that, but at the same time, we often said to each other in essence "Well, that's a bummer, but you can't win 'em all."

Still, I think her time in this state is ebbing away.  She has
made herself a magnet for opposition, and some day, that's going to bite her in the butt.  Some day when her district is younger than it is today.

dairy more about Minnesota.  I have wondered how Bachmann gets reelected in that state.  Also going back and reading all your recent diaries.

        •  How she gets re-elected (0+ / 0-)

is a pretty short story. Imagine a district stuffed to its parameters with suburban McMansions, the rich and the rural, a very republican combo.  Reddest district in Minnesota.

And, as I mentioned in my former comment, the state newspaper has treated her with kid gloves forever. I'll tell you a funny story.  She was once caught in a hilarious photo hiding behind some bushes, spying on a pro gay rights, anti-Bachmann rally. That photo made the rounds of all the smaller press in Minnesota, the national press and the internet, but the Star and Trib didn't touch it, or the story.

I have family who lives in her district, solid Democrats. They had to leave their church there and join one in another district because they couldn't take the Bachmann/GOP love pouring out of fellow parishoners---in coffee hours and sermons!

Although she did lose some of that love after her year as a presidential candidate, in which she pretty much lived in Iowa, her home state, so she could win that crazy who cares straw poll thangy.  Also, I hear some there don't like the national spotlight she has notoriously earned for herself.

In the last election she was opposed by a very well liked centrist Democrat, and she won by only 2 percentage points. But I think ultimately, it will take another republican to beat her in the primaries to ever see the end of her.

So there you go, your own personal diary. ;)

          •  As time goes on, it becomes more and more (0+ / 0-)

obvious that MN really has adopted a policy of attempting to confine all of the state's Whackadoodles to one congressional district.  For many years, this approach has been a standard method used by public health authorities for controlling potential outbreaks of contagious diseases.  There is no good reason why this same action would fail to be effective in combatting Blithering Bachmannism.

When all else fails, try thinking!

legal advice on the non disclosure forms. I do hope other GOP'ers are recieving advice from the same firm.......'cause they're good, real good.......

Must be Ken Cuccenellis' old firm......advocating breaking the law to, well, break the law...or obey it...or something......

If I were a Bachman ex staffer.... I would hold out for a lot more than $5,000.00...if they want that for a signature...there is more to be had. I thought Republicans understood the free market....

      it tastes like burning...
