    if the gun leaves your property.  If you own a bazooka and it never leaves your property then you never have to register it and you never have to have a license.  If you take it off of your property for any reason or if you sell it or it is stolen, then you must report it immediately or you will be legally responsible for the consequences.

    If the gun is strictly used on your property for your protection and you are a responsible owner who locks up their weapon to prevent theft or accidental use by an untrained child or guest then you have nothing to worry about.

    Same thing applies to a car or truck that you have on your property.  Drive it around the property, use it to pull your farm trailer or whatever but you better hope your fifteen year old kid doesn't take it to town, joy riding and kill someone because your butt will be in hot water.
