you transportation to a polling center for you to vote nor pay your gas to vote nor make sure you even exercise you right to vote.  However, they sure as hell can't place a cost on your right to vote, as in an ID to vote or a poll tax....no matter how small, as there will always be someone who can't afford it.

Same applies with the right to own a firearm. The government doesn't have to provide you with  a gun and you don't even have to own one if you don't want to....but they can't place a cost on that ownership.  A gun tax or gun fee is the same thing....it is a cost applied to exercising a right.....and no matter how small, there is some who couldn't afford it.
