    But what I'm pretty sure they were trying to provoke was an incident with the cops.

    I say that because I was involved with an unloaded open carry protest here in San Diego, and while we were organized and did not want an incident with the police, there were people in San Diego that were convinced that getting arrested for doing something legal would help the cause. They didn't join our event... guys like that tended to do what these jackoffs did, go out in ones or twos, not contact PD ahead of time, etc.

    As the event I was involved in shows, this kind of thing can work well. Law enforcement was notified, a route and locations were chosen, etc. Yes, some people were made uncomfortable, and a few called the cops. They were informed about the law, and no incidents of any kind occurred. Which is what we wanted.
