  •  Excellant idea and recommended but (4.00)
what's missing is the coordination to ensure the coverage we need.

Getting Kossacks involved is a great way but we don't really have a feel for what state's are covered and which need help.

This site dedicated to the memo has a link to Conyers letter and will help.

The always brilliant Greg Palast is focussing on this memo as a source for beginning impreachment proceedings.

The word is getting out and for this effort to get maximum coverage both in and out of the msm we need some coordination.

It appears that Congress, aside from Conyers is laying low to see how this pans out. That's valid so let's show them just how big this is.

Someday, after the forest fire of the Right has died we'll say "Whew, I'm happy that's over."

    •  You are so correct (none)
We really need some sort of centralized coordination of these activities.  I'm hoping Conyers and Apian, who have recommended diaries, can drive a at least a Kos coordination.

I think there are a lot of people who really want to do something, and might shoot off an email or phone call or two maybe once a month to express their outrage.  We REALLY need to tap into that and make Conyers' delivery of the signatures to Bush a powerful and historic turning point.  What's more effective?  A hundred disgruntled emails every other day, or several thousand coming in on the same day that network ratings fall, newspaper purchases fall, and Conyers confronts Bush with citizen outrage?

It's frustrating that there are all of these great ideas floating around, and plenty of people who'd participate, but less coordination of these efforts.

    •  Here's another important, helpful site (none)

      •  The people behind (none) were going to work through instead of starting a new site, but people didn't like the Bonifaz Memo to Conyers and their campaign  to demand a Resolution of Inquiry.  That is the only reason there is that division.

Also note that is offering a reward of $1,000 to anyone, professional journalist or citizen activist who gets President Bush to answer this question:

"In July 2002, did you or your administration 'fix' the intelligence and facts about non-existent Iraqi WMDs and ties to terrorism -- which were disputed by US intelligence officials -- to sell your decision to invade Iraq to Congress, the American people, and the world - as quoted in the Downing Street Minutes?

See note below re "The Big Brass Alliance" - more coordinating efforts.

        •  To make a correction to what you say... (4.00)
... SarahLee, before this turns into misinformation:

We at decided to keep our efforts to educating the public and prompting them to ask their representatives for a Resolution of Inquiry like Rep. Conyers is asking, not a list of Impeachable Offences. We are working in the same vein as Rep. Conyers, you notice he isn't going near that word either... for good reasons, we both want to get the inquiry off the ground first! We completely support a push for that inquiry.

But to use the word impeachment is not where we at this particular site want to go, at least for now. We think the foundation of indignation needs to be cultivated first... as in let's get the inquiry!

That Mr. Bonifaz and the other groups wish to call for impeachment at this time is fine and good, there message will resonate more with our base, and that is what they should be doing...

I would think that we are working together, even if our site does not have banners all over it... ours is a message from a different direction is all, a different tactic towards the same objective.

This point bears repeating: It isn't that we don't want to work with these others, so please don't spread that story around, for it is not true.

          •  Agree (4.00)
Just trying to say that there were background communications going on between groups and why still another group was started, when we are all working towards the same long term goals.  i.e. that there wasn't a lack of coordination.  Because that was my first question.

Should also note that they are not calling impeachment at this time - just the Resolution of Inquiry, which is the appropriate first step to lining things up for after the 2006 elections.

I always hate to see different websites and groups popping up to cover the same issue instead of pooling the resources and requiring me to check more than one site to get all the info.  So I had asked why that site/group was formed when Downing Street Memo already existed.

It isn't a criticism of either.  Just an explanation.

            •  Thanks for your prompt reply.. (none)
              ... this is important.

I fully understand thinking that there is a waste of energy with many different websites doing the same thing... this isn't quite like that. We have the same goal, but a different path to get there. We are trying to rope in the disgusted moderates, the people who are just now starting to wonder "Hey, this Bush guy may not be what I thought he was... hmmm...".

You know, the ones who don't stay in touch with reality as much as we would like :-)

Mr. Bonifaz' document's only (but for our purposes only) "fatal flaw" is the title... he does use the term impeachable. That is all. The rest is right on the money.

In fact, as we all believe I'm sure, these (and much more before this) are impeachable offenses! It is just that our site has a different purpose, that is all. We, like Mr. Conyers, believe in calling for the inquiry, using that term only, at this time.

We will be posting soon a diary explaining the whole situation regarding us and the Bonifaz letter. Thanks for your work in all this too... together we can do this!
