  •  Everyone should have healthcare. (20+ / 0-)

    It's a human right.

People who do not want children should not have them, and they should be respected for that.

People who want children should have them, and they should be respected for that.

There is no right way or wrong way.  Yes, people with out children are minimizing their footprint on the planet.  People who are raising thoughtful children are helping to build future help for the planet.

People who have children need flexible time at work to care for their children.  People who don't have children need flexible time at work to care for relatives and to care for the people in their lives.

I don't understand why this is so hard, or why people feel like they have to defend their choices.

What counts is how people treat others on the day to day level.  Do you give those close to you, and the world in general care, passion, intelligence, and love?

Those who don't do give to the world are the bozos.

and not a rising tide that lifts all boats.

So, it can be okay to have kids OR not have kids, but not both.

Or you can have flexible hours to raise kids OR take care of other people, but not both.

It's all about seeing the world through a sense of scarcity and being determined to "get their" no matter what happens to you, me or anyone else.

I don't understand that viewpoint, either.

      •  Isn't it funny how they only see economic (5+ / 0-)

policies that inherently favor the wealthy as "a rising tide"? Economic policies that favor all classes equally (which is what you'd think would be meant by "rising tide...all boats") are class warfare, apparently.

The last time the Republicans were this radical, they were working to elect former slaves to Congress. What a difference a century and a half makes!
