    I mean, if it recognizes it, then what you are saying is that I'm subsidizing other people's children. I don't want to do that.

    And, yes, it costs more. It costs about $1,000/month extra to have a child over not having one (for eighteen years). In other words, if you don't have about a $1,000/month of disposable income, you are not in a financial position to have a child.

    No mystery there. This is feedback from the universe explaining something that probably ought to be obvious: Enough is enough, already!
