    My mom wanted her tubes tied after she became pregnant with me (3 kids in 4 years) and no one would do it.  After her 4th pregnancy/kid (one year later), my dad got a vasectomy (pretty frickin remarkable for a man to do that in 1956). I guess I expected it was also difficult in the 60s/70s/80s/90s for some women to get their tubes tied, but I always assumed it was getting easier for most women than it was for my mom. It sounds like it might be a little easier but also that the PTB are still treating us like children.

    Jeebus .... We're "mature enough" to have children we might not want but not "mature enough" to choose not to have children ....
