  •  Glenn Greenwald too radical for DK until ...... (16+ / 0-)

The things he has written about for years come true.

He gave us warning about the Obama administration and how it was putting into concrete legislation the over reach of the Bush administration.

A lot of DK is focused on politics as what happens between the the two parties.

Greenwald was in Columbus OH last Feb and pointed out that on many, many issues both parties were on the same side. And thus the political dialogue only had what the parties wanted to talk about.

Many important topics like climate change and civil liberties were not even on the table.

Here is Greenwald 's article on this tragic suicide:

The inspiring heroism of Aaron Swartz
The internet freedom activist committed suicide on Friday at age 26, but his life was driven by courage and passion

Here is a link to the guardian which lists Greenwald's articles. Note the civil liberties issues like Bradley Manning prosecuted for what Woodward writes about all the time (and even Bin Laden is reported to have told people to read Woodward's book.)

Glenn has pointed out many times that his harshest critics are often not the right wing, but Obama supporters.

It's time to ask some difficult questions and demand answers.

Democratic Leaders must be very clear they stand with the working class of our country. Democrats must hold the line in demanding that deficit reduction is done fairly -- not on the backs of the elderly, the sick, children and the poor.

    •  and there's a problem with DKos (5+ / 0-)

if we can't even allow people like Greenwald and others to post here.

What does it say about this community when it hounds out anyone who has a valid criticism of our own party's leaders or their policies?  What does it say about us when we have to put on blinders when it comes to the mistakes our own leaders make, when they overreach and violate civil rights?  It's not a flattering portrait.
