    These kinds of activities should not be illegal.  Public information should be publicly available.  

    Someone shouldn't be prosecuted and imprisoned for dozens of years simply because they were avoiding a 20 or 50 cent per page fee to download dozens of documents.

    That's the crux of the issue here.  There are so many for-profit gatekeepers on the internet these days intent on making a huge profit allowing access to public information.  

    Democratic Leaders must be very clear they stand with the working class of our country. Democrats must hold the line in demanding that deficit reduction is done fairly -- not on the backs of the elderly, the sick, children and the poor.

      life?  He saw the deep, deep despair of what he helped unleash on the world?  He saw and understood that, yet again, something that could have been used for so much good was co-opted by the assholes and ruined.  Combined with his documented long-time depression, it is possible.

      I look at what the internet could be and what it IS and I despair deeply as well.
