  •  It's on my list. (2+ / 0-)

I read Parting the Waters immediately after defending my dissertation.  I went through and extraordinary period when I read a dozen books in a couple months.  I called it my intellectual decompression, since it was the first concentrated reading I could do unrelated to my research up to that time.

These days, I have a hard time keeping my reading up.  At this point, I fear I will have to wait to read the rest of Taylor Branch's books after I retire.

to read whatever I damn well pleased for a change! Fortunately (or unfortunately, the jury is still out), the MLK bios would still qualify as work-related reading for me. But I am sure that I have a lot more free time lately than you, since I'm on disability and focused on regaining my health. I'll let you know what I think ;)

Some DKos series & groups worth your while: Black Kos, Native American Netroots, KosAbility, Monday Night Cancer Club. If you'd like to join the Motor City Kossacks, send me a Kosmail.
