  •  Well, why not? (0+ / 0-)

Ranges require permits. It could be a condition of a permit. A lot of them have gun shops attached which need secure storage anyway.

Who says that a lot of them have shops attached?

Of the several ranges in my area, within about a thirty mile radius, only ONE is inside the shop building. That one shop is outnumbered more than eight to one.

And even at that gun shop, the shooting lanes are there as a draw to bring in more people to the shop itself, so they buy stuff.

Yo, I do believe that you are operating under the false assumption that things elsewhere are just like things around your-where.

It's safe to trust a sane person with the keys to nuclear weapons, but it's not safe to trust an insane person with the cleaners under the kitchen sink. The answer is not more gun control, it's people care.

all I have to have is my range fee. I don't even have to furnish my own weapon, or ammunition, or safety gear. I can rent the firearm, buy the bullets, and borrow the glasses / ear defenders.

      This is Texas, though.

I can go and spend no money, and listen to the conversations / ccl class / practice coaches talking to their shooters, if I want.
