    but I'll welcome any sane former Republicans into the fold. My experience is that most of them come closer to us as time moves along rather than the other way around.

      contextual, and when the person is freed from the context (the old party), new positions can taken based on the new context (the new party).

        I’d be surprised if Schodorf didn’t move a bit to the left now that she doesn’t have to try to appease the most conservative elements of her base. She certainly wouldn’t have to move much to fit into the KS Democratic Party, she’s already pro-choice, against tax cuts for the rich that destroy schools, reasonably pro-gay, etc. The moderate Republicans in Kansas are remarkably similar to what one would think of as conservative or moderate Democrats elsewhere.

        Kansan by birth, Californian by choice and Gay by the Grace of God.
