  •  What are her positions on the issues? (0+ / 0-)

That's the important thing.   The last thing America needs is to solidify the fact that we currently have two conservative parties.

So is she just an opportunist, or does she actually agree with core Democratic principles?   Does she think the safety net needs cut?

I refuse to welcome anyone to the party just to give the illusion of more control.   We saw what that shit got us with Obama's first term and his "majority" in congress.

The tent got so big it now stands for nothing.

The GOP has over 70% of seats in both chambers, they can do whatever the hell they want to with those majorities.

Why would you call someone who switches parties to be part of a super duper minority (Democrats have just 22% of the seats in the senate!) an opportunist?

Sorry but you'd have to be al Dem who switches parties in the state senate or state house to be an Opportunist in my eyes.

You neglect to realize this is Kansas the Dems will never be as liberal as the Dems are in CA or what not.

up the KS Dems first before we attack people who party swtich.

Remember that Dem Stat Rep. Jan Pauls is still in office.

Pauls has established herself as a vocal opponent of LGBT issues. She authored the state's law banning gay marriage and pushed a constitutional amendment on the subject. Last year, Pauls led a push to keep the state's sodomy ban on the books; one legislator told HuffPost on background that "she single-handily yanked" the sodomy repeal out of a bill. Pauls also has opposed adding sexual orientation to the state's civil rights laws.

And can you believe the state party still supported her this last cycle?

I hate that effing _unprintable word__ woman Pauls like nobody’s business, but local Dems did try to primary her—the openly-gay candidate who ran against her lost by 8 votes. That said, it’s probably a good thing he didn’t win—he was just brought up on domestic battery charges and for assaulting a police officer.  Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...
