  •  That's just wrong- valium was first a relaxant (4+ / 0-)

for muscle spasms before it was used for anxiety. Evidently too many doctors have forgotten that. And it's cheap compared to other muscle relaxants that don't work as well or have more side effects.

I hope you can find a doctor who will work with you on your back spasms - I've had some the past few years that made breathing painful.

I asked my doctor for some valium to have on hand for when they happen - it's not something you want to take all the time.
    It makes a nasty addiction.

Something that doesn't make good sense, makes bad sense. That means someone is being deliberately hurtful & selfish. Look for motives behind actions & words.

Hurts many people in many ways.

What is the point of worrying about addiction when I'm incapacitated anyway? If I try to do anything resembling a work schedule the spasms just start cascading as the days go by. So I'm not really useful anyway.

I do agree that toxins are an issue. But they have no grounds to say that about opiates because they have been shown to duplicate existing body chemistry. If you are actually in pain and you take an opiate you will receive no toxic effects at all until the pain threshold is low enough for your body to stop producing it's own opioids. (I forget their name). Yet they tell doctors to choke the patients supply? They make doctors waste their valuable time on paperwork best left to a computer program. For oipiods that are not toxic when properly clinically dosed.

Now my experiences have left me to believe that there are NO physicians capable of correctly assessing a patients pain because the entire system has been infected by the WOD
