    if your congressperson demands all fed spending cease, i say cease it to their state and let the next election fix it.

    i mean, if you can find a polling place still standing in the mad-max wasteland that would be left there by the next election...

    If only Michael Phelps hadn't smoked that pot...imagine what he could have accomplished with motivation and good lung capacity.

      States aren't (for the most part) homogeneously blue or red.  It's easier to see the benefits of government if your neighbor across the street still has postal service and the rest of federal government than it is to see that the next state over is suffering, especially if there is a block of states like the South or Mountain West that is full of the WATB's except in places like cities and towns.

      Colorado Springs, for example, could lose federal funding and because they've been pretty insistent that they don't want to fund things themselves, they'd be out of money while Denver and Boulder would still function.
