  •  Sort of like being a Mariners fan (4+ / 0-)

The Mariners have been the epitome of futility ever since about 2002 and every so often local sports writers delight in assembling all-star quality teams full of ex-Mariners.

It was worse back in the day when guys like Randy Johnson were in that mix. But then again it's worse now that Ichiro is a Yankee.

Giamatti was right. Baseball is designed to break your heart.

If you can't say anything nice about the GOP, please post here more often.

Kind of like when the NO Saints started during expansion (or is that the way it always is?), a hodge podge of former stars or near stars (or reserves) pulled together to make a team.

Yankees fans haven't had their hearts broken as often as the rest of us. But rooting for losers does teach us to feel for the underdog, who is probably us anyway.
