  •  It's worse than that. Even if the money were to (6+ / 0-)

    come from some place other than the school budget, the right question is whether that's the best use.

    Newtown and Columbine were horrible events, but they were rare events.  If we really want to save innocent lives, armed guards in schools is probably one of the least effective ways to do it.

      is this wisest expenditure of public resources?

      And, as part of systems-of-systems look, would armed guards at schools lead to the lunatic mass killer choosing to attack playgrounds or Santa lines at shopping malls or ...?
