your rubber ain't on the road of this debate.

    Sure...guns kill people.

Guns also protect. If you cannot: understand this or acknowledge this you are not really acknowledging an important part of reality.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.

    •  How would using a tool designed... (6+ / 0-)

for the sole purpose of killing or destroying something also be used to 'protect' that same something? Access to a firearm in a stressful situation tends to short circuit the problem resolution process. There are better solutions to 'protecting' your things of value, but if your goal is to kill or destroy to protect then you have succeeded.

      •  "Problem resolution" is often not an option. (5+ / 0-)

Attempting to talk down a mugger or a home invader is not at all likely, or wise. It is much better to protect yourself and your family with force than to be a helpless victim.

Not guns.  Look up what it does to fine motor reflexes and the thought process.

This problem resolution process you speak of:  How do you deal with violent sociopaths?  Or someone too drugged up to reason with?

I have also been lied to in a professional setting.  Had a user who brought in a laptop for warranty repair and it smelled like a brewery.  Our warranty does not cover user abuse.  He swore that beer was never poured into it.

I have to chalk it up to life experiences.  I have an ex-girlfriend that was, lets be honest here, crazy.  She was manipulative and her favorite game was to ask for little things one by one until she got the bigger thing that she wanted.  Her second favorite game was to pick a fight at about midnight about something very minor.  About a week later she called me and left a message saying her medication was adjusted and she was better.  I wanted nothing to do with her at that point.  I am now in a much healthier relationship with a spectacular woman.  Lesson learned.

      gun.

Yes, there are the Wayne 'Call Me Crazy' LaPierres, Alex Jones’, James Yeagers and Larry Klaymens who imagine a tyrannical boogey man when anyone attempts to have a rational, adult conversation to reign in the actual massacres by firearms in this country.
These men (blockquote) will always have guns.  They are clearly insane making youtubes about murdering people.  Yet they will keep their guns.

Turd Nugget, poopy battle pants (lest you forget 1967) is on the board at the NRA.  His videos also clearly show his insanity.  He will always keep his gun.

So if these guys want to save me, let me say NEVERMIND.  In fact, get away from me, NOW.

Sign my White House Petition Enforce the KEEP in the Second Amendment We don't have a problem with gun control, we have a problem with gun owners controlling their guns.
