    and he pointed out that Richard Nixxon had every intention of keeping the war going, thru massive bombing of the North, until the (expected) end of his presidency in January, 1977.

    It was only the good fortune of having a truly parnoid president that caused him to order the plumbers to "get" Ellsberg---as leaker of the Pentagon Papers---which in turn led to obstruction of justice charges against Nixon, and his subsequent resignation, which saved North Vietnam from an extra few years of murderous bombing.
