The title implied to me that we had another spree killer or mass murder.  From the details you present, this could be the resolution of some sort of personal feud

    •  Does that even matter? (4+ / 0-)

But details are sparse as it is just recently happened.

defend the gun Cult look for any reason to discount any death that they can as that is better for their religion. This is why we hear:

        1. suicides don't count.

        2. Any death that is accidental doesn't count.

        3. No death that is not well documented is real (of course even well documented deaths are called lies by conspiracy theorists)

Then they came for me - and by that time there was nobody left to speak up.

hold that there is an essential difference between someone who is killed as the result of his activity or behavior and someone who is killed by a complete stranger who is seeking to run up a score.  While both are dead, at least one in theory did have some sort of chance at perhaps avoiding his fate while those who are victims of a random shooter have absolutely no chance

is determined to kill themselves they will find a way gun or no gun (see Japan).  "Accidents" (negligent discharges really) and murders obviously do count as they very well might not have happened without a gun.

          •  Difference in how they are killed...? (3+ / 0-)

Seriously?  ...at least a one on one shooting victim had some "...sort of chance at perhaps avoiding his fate..."??

If we just want to give everyone a better chance, how about banning all guns. Everyone's chance of avoiding a "fate" of death would increase if the assailants were relegated to using a knife, stick, fists, etc.

That might actually be the most effective way to reduce violent deaths, not just gun deaths.

            •  Can't you read? I said SUICIDES don't count (0+ / 0-)

because such a person has all the time in the world to make sure they end up actually killing themselves.  What the fuck does that have to do with a one on one shooting victim (which is a murder, not a suicide)?  Did you actually read or do you just skim/search for keywords?

the shooter as it was apparently a targeted shooting rather than a random massacre.  Kind of scary since I was less than four square blocks away from there just last Thursday (Dec 10th) going to a show at the Crack Fox.

        •  So you would have preferred a massacre with (0+ / 0-)

dozens dead?  Why don't you think about the people who were there (both at the time and not) rather than what would be "best" for your crusade?  After all, a "simple" targeted shooting isn't nearly as good at getting support for more gun control than a mass casualty massacre, right?
