  •  no trust... and yet (9+ / 0-)

things just keep barreling ahead regardless. This is one of several untenable crises that can't and won't go away - climate change being another - where everyone seems to know that it's broken, and that the tools are there to fix it, but the political and institutional will is not there.

Any problem that would involve the economy re-tooling in any significant way involves some subset of fat-cats taking a haircut. It just won't happen... fasten your seatbelts - looks like 2008 wasn't bad enough to put a dent the status quo.

System required to even notice anything is really wrong. Gotta know there's a problem before you react. And then there's the Cult of Personality, which refuses to acknowledge problems on principle, because that might put pressure on or reflect poorly on the President.

The Class, Terror and Climate Wars are indivisible and the short-term outcome will affect the planet for centuries. -WiA "When you triangulate everything, you can't even roll downhill..." - PhilJD

really are and what various "leaders" and "experts" prattle about, Political, Financial, Military elites... it's like they think they already have seats on the Earth Escape Spaceships. Which someone like Bernie Madoff sold them.

Markos! Not only are the Gates Not Crashed, they've fallen on us. Actual Representatives are what we urgently need, because we have almost none.
