    No matter what control or regulation I suggest, the more likely it is to pass (in spite of NRA objections) the more likely I'll be accused of "NRA talking points".  I think that's because any effective regulation falls short of outright confiscation (and reduces the case for it), and there's a substantial part of the anti-gun community that wants nothing less.  Extremists on both sides, and we're caught in the crossfire . . .

      here who advocate banning all gun ownership.  While it is unlikely their POV will ever gain enough traction to make this reality, at the same time, it makes it more difficult to have a reasoned discussion because of the noise from both extremes
